SUPPORTING THE CHILDREN’S CHARITY, DREAMFLIGHT
As well the awards ceremony itself, attendees can also look forward to the Charity Auction and the Charity Calendar in aid of Dreamflight. We have been supporting charities for 15 years and during that time have raised over £500,000 for ChildLine and Dreamflight.
About Dreamflight
Dreamflight is a UK charity that takes children with a serious illness or disability on their holiday of a lifetime to Orlando. With just one small office, the charity relies heavily on fundraisers and supporters to raise the funds they need.
Each year, the Charity hires an aircraft and fills it with 192 amazing children from all over the UK. Accompanied by a team of medical and non-medical volunteers, they head for the theme parks in Florida for 10 days of fun! Parents are left behind so that the children can experience independence – many for the first time – and give the families a much-deserved break.
The trip can be life-changing and gives young people an opportunity to do something that medicine can’t: discover independence, confidence and a new outlook on life. Often for the first time, they realise that they are not the odd one out. They gain perspective and experience things that they never thought possible.
CHARITY CALENDAR
During the awards ceremony, we welcome on stage Patricia Pearce MBE, founder of Dreamflight, to raise awareness of the charity. Guests can donate to the charity throughout the evening via an iPad and also bid on special prizes such as sporting memorabilia and weekend breaks to famous cities around the world.
